Police attack the Saturday Mothers in Istanbul

The police attacked the Saturday Mothers’ gathering for their disappeared relatives. The crowd responded by chanting. The attack continues.

Saturday Mothers gathered for the 704th time to march to the Galatasaray Square to ask where their disappeared relatives are and to demand the perpetrators be tried.

They gathered in front of the Human Rights Association (IHD) Istanbul Chapter and started to march to the square holding photographs of the disappeared.

The police attacked the group which included Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-chair Pervin Buldan with shields and attempted to kettle them all into the IHD building.

The crowd responded with slogans. The police removed journalists from the area and continue to attack.
