Servet Turgut, who was thrown from a military helicopter with Osman Şiban after being detained in the Çatak district of Van and struggled to survive in the intensive care service for 20 days, lost his life on Wednesday.

The Governorship of Van made statements indicating that the two villagers had "fallen off a cliff".

Since Servet Turgut was brought to the hospital, his statement could not be taken because he was unconscious and the incident was recorded as "fallen off a cliff".

In the first report released on Turgut dated 11/09/2020, it was stated that he was brought to the hospital and intubated due to a “fall from height”, while no clear determination was made in the preliminary diagnosis of the reason for the fall.

However, it was learned that Van Education and Research Hospital added the phrase "falling from the cliff" as the cause of death in its report dated 30/09/2020.
