ISIG: At least 427 work-related murders in Antep in last 10 years

According to the ISIG Observatory, there were at least 427 work-related murders in Antep in the last 10 years.

The Occupational Health and Safety Council (ISIG) has published a report on work-related murders in Antep (Dilok) in the last 10 years.

The report is titled "Occupational Murders in Antep" and underlined that workers were exposed to all kinds of pressure and mobbing.

According to the report, at least 427 work-related murders have been registered in Antep since 2013. In particular:  29 in 2013, 29 in 2014, 33 in 2015, 34 in 2016, 34 in 2017, 50 in 2018, 49 in 2019, 58 in 2020, 55 in 2021. In 2022, 41 and 15 in the first seven months of 2023.

At least 20 women, out of the total, lost their lives. The business line with the highest number of deaths was the construction and road industry with 92 deaths.

The report underlined that the deaths of textile workers in Beşpınar Organized Industrial Zone were 12 percent, 5 times the national average, and added that the majority of worker deaths were caused by negligence.
