HDP demands information on deputy Gergerlioğlu

The HDP Press Office issued a statement on the detention of HDP Kocaeli MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu and his transfer to hospital late on Friday night. "The public should be informed about his health immediately," said the statement.

HDP Kocaeli MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu was detained by police on Friday evening while at his home.

The HDP Press Office issued a statement after the arrest and the following transfer to hospital of the politician.

The statement read: “Our deputy Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu was detained from his home in Ankara by the police. After the arrest, he was taken to Gazi Mustafa Kemal State Hospital for a health check. After he was transferred to the hospital, our deputy had an assault report issued because of the marks on his body. During the examination he told doctors that he had a problem of heart and suffered chest pain and shortness of breath.

Despite the persistent applications of our party leaders to the ministries of health and justice, we are unable to obtain information about the current whereabouts and health status of our deputy. The public should be informed immediately about the situation of our deputy Gergerlioğlu."
