'Abdullah Öcalan played an important role in the defeat of ISIS'

Al-Azhar University lecturer Şêx Ehmed Turkî said that Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan played an important role in the defeat of ISIS.

Stating that Arab and Islamic nations need a leader like Abdullah Öcalan, who has ideas, political and moral theories, Al-Azhar University academic Şêx Ehmed Turkî emphasised that Abdullah Öcalan played an important role in the defeat of ISIS.

Şêx Ehmed Turkî attended a symposium organised in El-Balad Library and signed the newly published book of Dar El-Mehrûsa.

Drawing attention to the role of Kurds and Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan in the defeat of ISIS, Ehmed Turkî said: "The resistance of the Kurdish people against ISIS in Iraq and Syria has repelled the terrorist groups. ISIS captured many Kurdish women, and it is feared that ISIS will reappear in North-East Syria. Yazidi women in particular need treatment due to the massacres of ISIS. There are thousands of people in the Arab and Islamic world who have become suicide bombers. The Arab and Islamic nations need someone like Abdullah Öcalan who is altruistic, has ideas, political and moral theories. In his books, Mr Öcalan emphasises the importance of the Kurdish people living together with the peoples of the region, and the importance of peace and tranquillity, especially in difficult times."
