The Şenyaşar family visited the graves of their murdered relatives and called on “anyone with a conscience” to support their struggle.

Ferit Şenyaşar and his mother Emine Şenyaşar are on the 41st day of their Vigil for Justice in front of the Courthouse in Urfa. Because of the coronavirus pandemic the vigil is held at home as there is a curfew imposed on weekends. Emine Şenyaşar lost her husband and two sons as a result of the attack carried out in Suruç by body guards and relatives of AKP deputy Ibrahim Halil Yıldız in June 2018, just before the general elections.

On Saturday, the Şenyaşarlar family could not come to the courthouse for the first time, in their 40 days of struggle, because of the coronavirus curfew.

Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar continue their vigil at home in Suruç. Ferit Şenyaşar visited the graves of his father Hacı Esvet and his brothers Adil and Celal Şenyaşar in Suruç Asri Cemetery, while his mother Emine could not visit the cemetery due to health problems.

Speaking during his visit to the cemetery, Ferit Şenyaşar said: “We could not go in front of the courthouse because of the curfew. Instead, we came to visit the graves of our 3 murdered relatives. Three years have passed since the killings and nobody is in prison charged with these killings. We will not lose our faith in justice, we will continue to demand justice. We call on people with a conscience to support our cause."
