15 more political inmates exiled to Şakran Prison

Within the scope of the recently enhanced exile operations against political prisoners, 15 more inmates have been exiled to Şakran T Type Prison in the western province of İzmir.

The ruling AKP government continues its operations against the Kurdish people with policies of massacre, political genocide and exile.

Within the scope of the recently enhanced exile operations against political prisoners, 11 more inmates in Diyarbakır D Type Closed Prison have been exiled to Şakran T Type Prison in the western province of İzmir. These 11 inmates are reported to be Kamuran Parlak, Erkan Tamir, Eyüp Adıgüzel, Fırat İşgören, İrfan Eminoğlu, Kadri Güzhan, Murat Yildeniz, Ömer Mutlu, Sadık Yöntem, Servet Çetin and Ömer Akdağ.

On the other hand, female prisoner Habur Sadak was also exiled to the Şakran Prison on March 17 after one month in solitary confinement in Antalya L Type Prison.

In addition, three more female political prisoners, Arzu Gezer, Zana Karabağa and Melike Aktaş, who had been arrested in Afyon two weeks ago and put in Afyon E Type Prison alongside ordinary prisoners, were similarly sent to Şakran T Type Prison.

Lawyer Seda Tanrıkulu, co-chair of the Association for Solidarity with the Families of Prisoners (TUAD) İzmir branch, warned recently that political prisoners in Şakran are being jailed together with ordinary prisoners, and have no safety of life in this prison.
