Özgür Gündem newspaper’s Chief Editor Bilir Kaya and Editor in Chief İnan Kızılkaya have been arrested at the court they were referred to.

Kaya and Kızılkaya faced the prosecutor around noon yesterday and gave statements to Press Prosecutor Umut Tepe. Following the statement procedures, the journalists were referred to court on duty with allegations of “membership to a terrorist organisation”, “propaganda for a terrorist organisation” and “disrupting the unity and integrity of the state” for which they have been arrested.

Kaya and Kızılkaya denied the allegations in their defense, and stated that they had conducted journalism and included different views.
