Number of detained journalists rises to 6

The Turkish regime’s attacks against the free press continue unabated.

Many journalists have been taken into custody during house raids in Van, Istanbul and Mersin in yet another political genocide operation conducted in line with an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Journalist Reyhan Hacıoğlu was detained in Van, Necla Demir, Rahime Karvar and Ahmet Güneş in Istanbul and Vedat Örüç in Mersin's Tarsus district.

Welat Ekin was also detained in Istanbul on the grounds that he was to give a statement to the police.
