A Turkish drone attack on Wednesday targeted a car belonging to the Jin TV channel, which reports on current developments and backgrounds from a women's perspective. Necimedîn Feysel Hec Sînan, the driver of the car, which was on the move on the Qamishlo-Amude road, was killed in the attack and a female journalist, Delila Ağît, suffered injuries.

The Women's Press Union (YRJ) in North-East Syria gathered in front of the Office of the United Nations Commissioner for Migrants in Qamishlo and denounced the Turkish attack.

Dozens of journalists attended the action where YRJ member Evîn Îbrahîm condemned the increasingly ongoing Turkish attacks since the beginning of the North-East Syrian revolution.

Evîn Îbrahîm pointed out that the occupation forces have also been targeting journalists who expose the crimes they have committed in the region.

Îbrahîm called on all international parties, in particular those responsible for the protection of journalists, to uphold their moral duties and not to remain silent in the face of the Turkish state’s targeted attacks against journalists.

Speaking after, Free Press Union (YRA) Co-Chair Dilyar Cizîrî pointed out that the Turkish state targets journalists in order to cover up its crimes and violations in the region.

Cizîrî stated that the previous attacks by the Turkish state had already claimed the lives of many journalists, including İsam Ebdullah and Seed Ehmed, who had been documenting the atrocities against the civilian population in the regions of Serêkaniyê and Dêrik.

Dilyar Cizîrî vowed that journalists would follow in the footsteps of their fallen colleagues and called on those responsible for protecting journalists to express their stand and take urgent action against these attacks.
