Jailed DÝHA journalist Özlem Aðuþ was arrested in a raid carried out within the context of the so called KCK (Union of Kurdistan Communities) on 6 March. In a letter she is writing about the rights violations in Karataþ Closed Women’s prison.
Aðuþ underlined that books and some clothes sent to prisoners were seized by the prison administration that considered them ‘elements of crime.’ Aðuþ emphasized that the books confiscated have no ban on them and that these arbitrary procedures have been carried out for a long time in the prison.
Aðuþ confirmed in her letter that the indefinite hunger strike without turns in the prison to protest the isolation of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan as well as the military and political operations is going on.
