Women's News Agency (JINHA) editor and reporter Zehra Doğan and HDP Mêrdîn MP Ali Atalan’s advisor Mazlum Kavak had been detained in a cafe they were sitting in Mardin's Yenişehir district the night before.
After one day in custody at Nusaybin Police Directorate, Doğan and Kavak were referred to prosecutor's office with a demand for their arrest earlier today.
While JINHA editor Doğan was remanded in custody on alleged grounds of “spreading propaganda for a terror organisation”, HDP MP Ali Atalan's advisor was released on conditions of “judicial control”.
