Turkish fighter jets and helicopters bomb guerrilla areas

Turkish warplanes and helicopters bombed Metina, Gare, Avashin and Zap areas in Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.

The Press Center of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) announced that the invading Turkish army carried out air strikes with helicopters and warplanes on Medya Defense Zones. The following details are included in the HPG statement:

“On January 10, between 11:40 and 11:50 am, the vicinity of Bazê village in the Metina region was bombed with warplanes.

On January 12, at 03:30, the village of Shikriye in the Chemanke sub-district in the Garê region was bombed with warplanes.

On January 12, at 09:40, the Mervanos area in the Avashin region was bombed by warplanes.

on January 12; between 14:00 - 14:30 Bircella and Şelale areas in Martyr Rüstem territory in Zap region and the areas of Martyr Xeyrî, the stadium as well as the surroundings of the Mêrganîş village in the Small Cilo area were bombed with helicopters.

On January 15, at 12:50 pm, the Werxelê area in the Avashin region was bombed by warplanes and the Geliyê Basya area at 13:00 the same day.

On January 15, at 12:50 pm, the Zap region Kunişka area was bombed with warplanes.

On January 16, at 13:40, the Martyr Şahin area of ​​the Zap region was bombed with fighter jets and the Martyr Zilan area was bombed with helicopters between 20:30 and 20:45 on the same day.

On January 16, at 13:30, the Mamresho area of Avashin area was bombed with warplanes."
