Syriac fighter: Kobanê did not fall but Raqqa is falling

Syriac fighter Qamişlo: “In the operation to liberate Raqqa, our goal is to rescue our people under ISIS atrocity. We will liberate our brothers and sisters very soon.”

Speaking to ANF, Syriac Military Council member Oron Qamishlo stated that the Operation Wrath of Euphrates continues at full force as fighters are beginning to lay a siege around the Raqqa city.

“WE WILL CONTINUE TO LIBERATE OUR LANDS”

Noting that Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are trying to answer the needs and demands of Syrian peoples since the first day it was founded, Oron Qamişlo stressed that their operations will continue for the liberation of peoples ad Syrian lands from the gangs.

Qamişlo remarked that SDF became the only representative of Syrian peoples with the sense of struggle it presented, and that SDF will continue their struggle against the attacks on peoples, as was highlighted in its declaration of establishment.

Recalling that SDF fighters are today advancing step by step towards Raqqa to liberate it from ISIS gangs that declared the city to be the capital of caliphate, Qamişlo vowed that "basing on the principles of peoples' fraternity and freedom, we will liberate all the peoples who remain under occupation".

"BUILDING OF DEMOCRATIC SYRIA REQUIRES A JOINT STRUGGLE"

Qamişlo pointed out that numerous distinctive battalions and fighters from various folks and faith groups living in Rojava and Northern Syria are taking their place in the battlefield, noting that the Syriac Military Council and its fighters was one of these distinctive organizations.

Qamişlo said he has been taking place in the military campaign to liberate Raqqa since its beginning, and put emphasis on the importance of joint struggle:

Many folks and faith groups including Syriacs, Arabs, Kurds, Turkmens and Circassians came together for the building of a Democratic and Free Federal Syria. All these are fighting shoulder to shoulder against the ISIS gangs in the operation to liberate Raqqa."

Remembering the Kobanê victory of two years ago, Qamişlo pledged that they will remain loyal to the memories of all the revolutionaries that fell during the Kobanê resistance, and to follow in the footsteps of the martyrs of revolution. He continued: "Our goal in the operation to liberate Raqqa is to rescue our peoples who are under ISIS atrocity. As the Syriac Military Council, we will liberate all our brothers and sisters, Arabs in the first place, very soon.

I would also like to state that the ISIS gangs and the supporting states that were defeated in Kobanê have not given an end to their dirty plans on the Northern Syria Federation and Syrian peoples yet.

"WE ARE THE ANCIENT COMMUNITIES OF THESE LANDS"

As Syriac, Arab, Turkmen, Circassian and other folks and faith groups, we are among the ancient communities of these lands. For tens of years we lived with other peoples in fraternity. Our peoples were deliberately made to slaughter one another during several years. We need to say stop to this, which I believe we have achieved to a great extent.

We will back each other and live together with a stronger resolve just like how we lived on these lands and Mesopotamia in fraternity and peace in the past. We will consolidate our unity and solidarity in the battlefield and foil all the dirty plans of international and regional powers."
