Kurds have staged protests in various European cities yesterday. Kurds wanted to expose the isolation PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan is suffering for months as well as the political operation going on in Turkey which is bringing behind bars thousands of Kurdish politicians, human rights activists, academics, civil society organization members.
Actions were staged in Switzerland, France, England, Italy, Holland, Germany.
The form of protest chosen by Kurds in these actions was the occupation of media offices or political buildings.
So in Basel, women have occupied the Parliament of the local Canton.
In Marseilles a group of young Kurds occupied the local council.
In Paris Kurds occupied the television building.
In Arnhem, Holland another action took place at the local parliament while in London Kurds occupied Channel4 building.
In Italy the action was staged in the Vatican.
