The Internationalist Commune of Rojava interviewed Yadê Suat, the mother of two martyrs, about how Abdullah Öcalan influenced her life.

On the 15th of February 1999 Rêber Apo [Abdullah Öcalan] was kidnapped as the result of an international conspiracy against the Kurdish Freedom Movement.

His detention caused big protests all over the world. The conditions of his imprisonment became worse over the years. For three years, there has been neither any contact with him nor information about his situation and health. For over 25 years, the Kurdish people have struggled for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.

To understand the meaning of Abdullah Öcalan to society of the Middle East, the Internationalist Commune of Rojava did an interview with Yadê Suat, mother of two martyrs, Hevrîn and Zozan. The two women gave their lives in the struggle to free the Kurdish people.

In the interview, Yadê Suat mentioned the 15th of August 1984, the beginning of the armed struggle.
