Levidow: The path to a peaceful solution is blocked by isolation

Dr. Les Levidow said that solving the Kurdish question is not possible without the freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Senior Research Fellow, Britain Open University, Dr. Les Levidow spoke to journalist Erem Kansoy about the Kurdish question.

A co-founder of the Campaign Against Criminalising Communities (CAMPACC) and supporter of the Peace in Kurdistan Campaign, Dr. Les Levidow underlined that solving the Kurdish question is not possible without the freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Lewidow said: "The only way to achieve peace is through an established democracy, which Öcalan showed us.

Öcalan saw and explained very well that a peaceful solution can only be achieved through serious changes within the Turkish state. The democratic autonomous government built in the region with Öcalan's ideas is the system that should be taken as an example to build peace."
