The Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) has selected its new Parliament Vice Speaker following an internal meeting.

Following the passing of the party’s former Parliament deputy Speaker, Sırrı Süreyya Önder, on 3 May, a meeting was held today at the party’s headquarters with its members of parliament to determine his successor.

According to a report by Mehmet Aslan from Mezopotamya Agency, the DEM Party elected Pervin Buldan, MP for Van (Wan) and a member of the Imralı delegation, as the new Parliament deputy Speaker.

The party will submit Buldan’s name to Parliament through an official application in the coming days.
