The 22nd Munzur Culture and Nature Festival will start in Dersim today, Thursday. This year the festival, which will continue until Sunday 28 July, will be held with the main slogan "We will not allow our nature and will to be usurped." Many topics will be discussed in panels, seminars, walks, concerts and other events.

Emir Ali Genç, from the Organizing Committee of the festival, said that the need for the festival arose due to attacks on the nature and culture of the city, and added: "This festival started with the aim of defending and supporting Dersim culture, values ​​and nature and so has continued until today. The festival to be held this year is organized by the labor and democracy forces in Dersim."

'Returning to the essence'

Genç said that they wanted to keep Dersim culture alive and expose the oppression nature, culture, people and the environment are exposed to. Genç noted that the festival this year is based on "return to the essence."
