The Kurdish Cultural Festival organised by the Kurdish Democratic Council in France (CDK-F) and the Kurdistan Cultural Association (Association et Kulturel de Kurdistan, Komeleya Çand û Hunere ya Kurdistan) started in Paris on Saturday. The festival, which runs from 25 May to 1 June, is organised in cooperation with the Danielle Mitterrand Foundation, the Municipality of Paris, the Municipality of the 10th arrondissement of Paris, the Municipality of Mant Le Jolie and the Municipality of Montreuil.
The third day of the Kurdish Cultural Festival continued with the performance of a Dengbej Divan in Mantes-la-Jolie in the Île-de-France region.
Hozan Maruf, Ruken, Narinxan, Diyar Mehrovi, Reber Serhed and Hozan Şemdin participated in the Dengbêj Divan, which attracted great interest from the Kurdish people. At the event, important works of dengbêj art from different regions of Kurdistan and different maqams were presented.
The festival is organised to promote the threatened Kurdish culture and to protect and promote it against cultural assimilation. It takes place in various cities in Paris and the Île-de-France region.
The Kurdish Cultural Festival aims to introduce the richness and history of Kurdish culture to a wider audience and contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage through such events.
