Trustee appointed to Hilvan before rerun of elections on 2 June
Hilvan District Governor Orhan Gazi Karakaş was appointed as trustee to the municipality where the DEM Party won, but then the decision was made to rerun the elections.
A trustee was appointed to Hilvan (Curnê Reş) municipality, where the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) won the local elections, but it was decided to rerun the elections.
The AKP supporters' burning of the ballot boxes and their subsequent objection to the election were accepted by the District Election Board, and it was decided to rerun the elections on 2 June.
Hilvan District Governor Orhan Gazi Karakaş was appointed as Hilvan mayor with the approval of Urfa Governorship.
