YPG/YPJ take control of ISIS emplacements in Til Temir

YPG/YPJ forces have reportedly entered the villages of Til Mecder and Eşra to the west of Hesekê.

YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units) have reportedly entered the villages of Til Mecder and Eşra to the west of Hesekê.

YPG/YPJ forces have taken control of some strategically important hills, which ISIS gangs used as emplacements, and liberated 3 villages in an operation launched to take of revenge for the 2015 Newroz martyrs by the YPG/YPJ forces. 

The clashes that broke out after the start of the operation by the YPG/YPJ forces at 01:00 on 8 May in the area between Til Temir and Hesekê are continuing, while the YPG forces have liberated 3 villages, Nesret, Mehmud Kurd and Ezam, and a hill in the village of Til Mecdel. It has been reported that the hill taken by the YPG/YPJ forces has been strategically important as the gang groups launched their operations from that hill.

In the meantime, it has also been reported that international coalition forces have carried out bombardments on the gangs’ emplacements in the area.
