The general strike led by trade unions DİSK, KESK, TMMOB and TTB is expected to witness a strong participation. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) will also support the strike.
A statement released by the Central Executive Board of the HDP voiced deep sorrow over the massacre at the Peace Rally in Ankara on October 10th.
The statement by HDP said that; "As a response to those who contemptibly massacred the people that came together for peace in Ankara in an attempt to silence them, we need to manifest everywhere that the voice for life and peace will never be silenced. We provide full support to the General Strike announced by the Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions (DISK), Confederation of Public Employees' Trade Unions (KESK), Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) and Turkish Medical Association (TTB) that had also organized the Peace Rally in Ankara."
HDP said they will be joining the General Strike to expand the struggle of those massacred to all the areas of life, and called upon all workers and citizens across the country to support the strike in order to bring the life to a halt and make the voice of peace be heard.
