HDP İzmir deputy Ertuğrul Kürkçü who himself is at the scene of the twin explosions that hit demonstrators joining Peace Rally in the Turkish capital Ankara, spoke to ANF about the situation.
Kürkçü said; “The majority of the wounded has been rushed to hospitals with ambulances. More than 10 people died at the scene of the first explosion. Their bodies have been covered with banners and flags. Three children are among them. The situation is the same at the scene of the second explosion. Eyewitnesses say two bombs were detonated at two separate spots at a distance of 20-30 meters to one other. There is a a blood bath here. The intervention was belated, ambulances arrived the area very late. Many could therefore lose their lives due to loss of blood. Police are attacking the people with tear gas, which made a large part of the people leave the scene where we remain together with the dead.”
Kürkçü underlined that humanity is being trampled on, adding; "The people of Turkey must answer this massacre by standing up everywhere."
Pointing to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Kürkçü said; "Who could doubt that this is a work of the Palace?"
