Dozens of prosecutors and judges detained

The AKP regime has launched a widespread operation in the TAF and the judiciary following the attempted coup. Today many prosecutors and judges were detained.

Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has issued arrest warrants for 140 members of the Supreme Court and 48 members of the State Council and detentions were made in various provinces. The Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK) had already suspended 2,745 judges.

ISTANBUL

By demand from the HSYK, Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office issued arrest warrants on 140 judges and prosecutors in Bakırköy Courthouse, Küçükçekmece Courthouse and District Administrative Court. Charges against the judges and prosecutors, who have search warrants issued in their home and work addresses as well, are: “Membership to armed terrorist organisation”, “Attempting to take down the Government of the Republic of Turkey or prevent them from performing their duties completely or partially using coercion and violence”.

60 of the prosecutors and judges are from the Bakırköy Courthouse, 35 from Küçükçekmece Courthouse and 45 from District Administrative Court.

ANTEP

36 judges and prosecutors have been detained in Antep. By the statement from the governorate, 11 prosecutors and 25 judges were detained in the operations.

ZONGULDAK

A total of 17 people, 8 judges and 9 prosecutors, have been detained in Zonguldak.

GİRESUN

7 out of the 10 judges and prosecutors working in Giresun have been detained.

ARDAHAN

4 judges and 1 prosecutor were detained in Ardahan.

KIRKLARELİ

5 judges and 3 prosecutors were detained in the investigation carried out by the Kırklareli Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
