Captured ISIS member: Turkish helicopter brought us to Kirkuk

The statement of an ISIS member captured alive in Kirkuk reveals the fact that the ISIS attack on Kirkuk had been organized by the Turkish state.

According to a report by the Bedir News website which broadcasts in Arabic, an ISIS member was caught alive during clashes in Kirkuk yesterday.

The captured ISIS member pointed that the Turkish state organized the attacks on Kirkuk and told the followings: “A helicopter belonging to the Turkish state brought us to the Serêtepe village to the north of Kirkuk. We were later taken to Kirkuk city center. Our goal was to seize control of the governor's office and state institutions, for which purpose we attacked these areas.”

The village of Serêtepe (Seyran Tepe) mentioned by the ISIS member is affiliated to the Laylan subdistrict of Kirkuk. ISIS groups also targeted this village early yesterday morning and 9 members of the gangs were killed in the clashes in this area.
