11 km advance in the Operation Wrath of Euphrates
In the third stage of the Operation Wrath of Euphrates, an 11 kilometer advance has been made. The fighters partaking in the operation have cleared one village and five hamlets of ISIS gangs.
The third stage in the Operation Wrath of Euphrates to liberate Raqqa launched this morning at 05:00.
The fighters are reported to have taken off in two groups, one from Xiniz village in Siluk town, and the other from Bîr Beha village in the strategic Mekmen region.
The fighters in the Xiniz village side have advanced 10 kilometers and taken the road to the Galta village under control. With this, they are now 24 km away from north east Raqqa. There, the SDF fighters took control of Bîr Seada village and three hamlets.
The fighters in the Mekmen side have advanced 11 kilometers and cleared 2 hamlets of ISIS gangs.
In 15 air strikes by the Coalition aircraft, large groups of gang members were killed and several shelters and positions were destroyed.
10 ISIS members were killed in clashes in the ground operation. One gang vehicle was destroyed and two Kalashnikovs, one motorcycle, ammunition and two bodies were seized.
The fighters continue their advance.
