Warplanes of the Turkish army shelled the guerrilla-held Media Defense Zones throughout the night. The strikes by Turkish warplanes targeted the areas of Kandil, Gare and Metina.

The airstrike by Turkish jets also hit civilian areas including the village of Enze in Kandil region and a settlement in Xakurkê.

Howitzer and mortars were also fired on guerrilla zones when airstrikes were suspended for short whiles during the night.

The main Kurdish city Amed (Diyarbakır) witnessed an unusual activity of military aircraft all night long.

Alternative media was also targeted during the course of the airstrikes, as Turkey denied access to the Kurdish news agencies ANF, ANHA, DİHA, Rojnews, and websites of Özgür Gündem and Günlük daily paper. ANF has been targeted by an intense cyber attack which didn't allow access to the website as of the beginning of Turkish bombardments in guerrilla zones.

The Twitter account of HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office was also suspended last night.

The activity of Turkish warplanes over Medya Defense Zones restarted Saturday morning. According to the information obtained from the region, two warplanes of the Turkish army started conducting flights over Gare and Metina areas as of 10:40 Saturday morning. While the Turkish aircraft activity in the region continues, no information was immediately available whether the warplanes conducted a strike.

In the meantime, two civilians were wounded as a result of Turkish airstrikes in Çemço area of Medya Defense Zones, according to initial reports.
