The Turkish state tries to carry out civilian massacres in South Kurdistan similar to the ones it carries out in Northern Kurdistan. Turkish warplanes once again bombed civilian settlements in Qandil and luckily, no civilians were killed during the bombardment. However, many houses were destroyed, tens of livestock were killed, and gardens were burnt.

The Turkish warplane bombardment began around 00:00 last night and continued until 04:30 this morning. The area encompassing Lewcê, Bukriskan, Enzê, Suredê, and Şêxan and Sitêwrêka villages in Kalatuka were bombarded, and many houses and livestock were destroyed.

The Turkish state has historically targeted Southern Kurdistan numerous times, killing tens of civilians. The Korten region in Qandil was bombed on August 21, 2011, and 7 people were killed during this bombardment. Turkish warplanes also bombarded Qandil’s Zergele village on August 1, 2015, killed 8 civilians and injured another 15.
