Soldiers and police launched an operation in the district soon after the announcement of an indefinite curfew to last until a further notice, which remains in effect since last night.

Dozens of armored vehicles, and large numbers of soldiers and special operations police teams dispatched to the district launched an expansive operation targeting the Tekel, Konak, Mescit and Selahattin neighborhoods held by groups of self-defense protecting their areas against the attacks.

Heavy clashes erupted in the district after the telephone networks, internet and mobile internet were all cut off, and an activity of helicopters started at around 05:45 this morning.

Reports of big blasts are also coming through from the district where Turkish security teams attacked people who took to the streets as of early this morning.

A YOUTH MURDERED

A youth by the name of Serhat, whose surname is yet not available, was taken to Dicle University Medicine Faculty after suffering a heavy injury as he was hit by a bullet in the head. Despite all the medical reports, the youth, reportedly in his twenties, has lost his life.

Reports say that police and soldiers have opened fires on many houses, snipers have been stationed on high buildings and helicopters are flying over the district.

ENTRANCE-EXIT BANNED

An eye witness ANF reached via phone told that; "Heavy clashes erupted at around 06.00 -07.30 this morning and gunshots are still being heard from time to time. Intense black smokes are rising in the district center where two big blasts have occurred."

According to reports, police have blocked the roads leading to the district from Amed and Batman, and are not allowing anyone into the district.

NO COMMUNICATION IN LİCE

On the other hand, internet and telephone networks have similarly been interrupted in Amed's Lice district where also a curfew was ordered by the Governor yesterday evening.

WOMEN ON THEIR WAY TO SİLVAN

In the meantime, a delegation of the Women's Freedom Assembly (KÖM) has left for Silvan where the Turkish state has launched an operation in preparation of an imminent massacre.

The 15-person delegation comprised of deputies, journalists and human rights defenders is expected to reach Silvan in the afternoon.
