While 31 people remain trapped in a basement in Şırnak's Cizre district for 10 days now, their families who have been joining the vigil of resistance in Nusaybin have left for the town to reach their beloved ones.

Mothers of Dersim Aksoy, Feride Yıldız, Mehmet Yavuzel, Rohat Aktaş and Ali Fırat Kaplan who are all wounded, and family of slain youth Cihan Karaman are accompanied by HDP deputies Ali Atalan and Burcu Özkan and religious scholars.

The group was blocked by special operation police at the entrance of Cizre town and not allowed to move on amid insults directed at them.

Meliha Aktaş, mother of wounded Rohat Aktaş, reacted to the police obstruction, saying; "What would you do if your children with wounds were held waiting in a basement?", to which police chief answered "We also suffer casualties."

The group is being held waiting in the area under a strict blockade.
