Kobanê Foreign Affairs Minister İbrahim Kurdo said they expected an explanation from Turkish authorities about the claims that six YPG fighters in Turkey have been handed over to Al-Nusra.
Kurdo spoke in Amed where he participated a workshop organised by SAMER on “Turkey’s Middle East Crisis and Effects of the New Conflict Era on Kurdistan”.
YPG Kobanê Command announced in previous days that Turkey handed over six wounded YPG fighters to Jabbat Al Nusra gangs through Bab El Hewa border gate in İdlib, demanding an immediate explanation from the Turkish authorities who remained silent about the issue.
Kobanê Foreign Affairs Minister Kurdo said that they could not get any information about the YPG fighters who legally crossed into Turkey for treatment from Mürşit Pınar border gate. Kurdo said they expected a clear explanation whether the 6 YPG fighters were handed over by Turkey to Al-Nusra gangs after their treatment.
“Gang groups are hosted in Turkey”
Stressing that the ISIS was a terrorist organisation founded against all humanity and attacking without differentiating between the people, Kurdo said it was the YPG/YPJ forces that waged a struggle against the gangs and protected the 900 km Turkish border from them for over 4 years now.
Kobanê Foreign Affairs Minister pointed out that Turkey should provide support to YPG forces in order to cleanse the entire area of this terror.
Pointing to claims that Turkey hosted gang groups within its borders, Kurdo said Turkey should stand against the forces that provide support to gangs within its borders if these allegations are true.
“ISIS targets the egalitarian model based on freedoms”
Commenting on the reasons of the ISIS attacks on Rojava, Kurdo said “There is a model implemented in Rojava that takes equality and freedoms of the people as its basis. This model is against the monist model based on one language, one religion and one race model adopted by ISIS. This is why Rojava is being attacked by the hand of ISIS.”
“The cantons will be united”
Also commenting on whether the three cantons of Rojava will be united or not, Kurdo said the cantons of Efrin and Kobanê will be united through the liberation of Jarablus, just like the cantons of Cizîrê and Kobanê have been united with the liberation of Girê Spî.
Kurdo underlined that none of the three cantons in Rojava constituted a threat for Turkey, adding that they didn't want to have any problems with Turkey, and could live in peace as neighbors.
