General Coordination of Rojava Cantons salutes declarations of self-rule

The General Coordination of Rojava Cantons' Executive Councils has released a statement condemning the attacks of the Turkish state against the people of Bakurê (Northern) Kurdistan that have recently declared self-rule.

The General Coordination of Rojava Cantons' Executive Councils has released a statement condemning the attacks of the Turkish state against the people of Bakurê (Northern) Kurdistan that have recently declared self-rule.

Saluting the self-rule declaration and resistance of Bakur people, the statement underlined that; “Against the political will of the Bakurê Kurdistan people, AKP government maintains its enmity and approach aiming to make peoples confront each other. The AKP attempts to avenge on the Kurdish people through the recent massacres and arrests of civilians, including children and women, in Bakurê Kurdistan.”

The General Coordination of Rojava Cantons' Executive Councils condemned the annihilation and massacre attacks of the Turkish state, and called upon the Turkey's public opinion to put more pressure on AKP in order for it to end the barbaric acts against the Kurdish people, to stop supporting the ISIS and turn back to the process of solution for the Kurdish question.

The statement also highlighted a call to all democratic forces, human rights organisations and the United Nations (UN) to support the people of Bakurê Kurdistan and to ensure the trial of Erdoğan and AKP at international courts for the massacres they have committed.

The General Coordination of Rojava Cantons' Executive Councils offered their condolences to the families of the Kurdish martyrs murdered by AKP's military and police forces, and a speedy recovery to the wounded.
