Curfew in 15 neighborhoods of Nusaybin

A curfew has been imposed on 15 neighborhoods of Mardin's Nusaybin district to go in effect as of 21:00 Friday evening.

A curfew has been imposed on 15 neighborhoods of Mardin's Nusaybin district to go in effect as of 21:00 Friday evening.

The announcement by Nusaybin District Governor's Office said that the curfew has been declared for the people's “security of life and property” and “to re-establish an environment of peace and security”.

The curfew in the neighborhoods of Abdulkadirpaşa, Fırat, Dicle, Yenişehir, Yenituran, Yeşilkent, Mor Yakup, Zeynelabidin, Kışla, 8 Mart, Gırnavas, Devrim, Selahaddin Eyyubi, İpekyolu and Barış will remain in effect until a further notice.

A previous six-day curfew in the district had been imposed on October 1, witnessing a heavy crackdown by Turkish state forces which left two civilians dead.
