Cizre People's Assembly Co-President: People will never surrender

Cizre People's Assembly Co-President Mehmet Tunç stated that those trying to break the will of the people will definitively go down in defeat.

Speaking to ANF about the re-imposition of a curfew in Şırnak's Cizre district yesterday evening, Cizre People's Assembly Co-President Mehmet Tunç stated that those trying to break the will of the people will definitively go down in defeat.

Tunç underlined that; “The people of Cizira Botan will never surrender to AKP gangs, even if half of Cizre population is massacred. If we have a gun in one hand, we have an olive branch in the other hand.”

Tunç remarked that the Turkish state aimed to tear thousands of youths apart from home and claim "We brought peace to Cizre", similar to what was done as part of the political genocide operations in 2009, adding; "Yet, the state was not able to break the will of the people by attacking them with tanks and artilleries. Things, however, did not go as planned. The people of Botan gave a good lesson in response to the all-out attacks of the system."

‘BOTAN PEOPLE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO RESIST'

Cizre People's Assembly Co-President underlined that the Turkish state couldn't cope with the Botan people despite mobilizing all its forces during the eight days of curfew and crackdown.

Emphasizing that the people of Cizre will never surrender, Tunç added; “I want to repeat what we said when we first declared self-rule; the people will build their system and never take a step back even if half of Cizre's youths are massacred. We have guns and stones in one hand, but we have an olive branch in the other hand. The state could either talk to us and solve this problem, or insist on killing us all. We will welcome them for either of these two choices. The people of Cizira Botan remain standing straight. They will never be able to break this resistance of the people, even if they attack us for months, not only 8 days. AKP gangs will never be able to act as they wish in Cizre.”
