While details of the mass murder remain unclear as Turkish officials are yet to explain how many people were killed, and how, 12 more corpses have been retrieved from the building today.

Yesterday, 27 burnt and fragmented corpses had been retrieved from the area and taken to Cizre State Hospital with municipal ambulances which state forces granted access to the scene only after the massacre. These were later sent to Şırnak, Mardin and Urfa post port-mortem examination.

According to the remarks of those who participated in the autopsy, bodies are mostly burnt and dismembered, and unidentifiable due to an utmost burnt. One of the victims was beheaded, because of which only the body underwent an autopsy. Both legs of another body were also fragmented.

While a total of 62 people were known to be stuck in the building before the massacre, 39 corpses have been taken out of it since yesterday. The fate of 23 others remains unknown.
