PJAK holds its 7th congress

PJAK held its 7th congress with the slogan "Let's liberate Kurdistan and build a democratic nation with the philosophy of Jin Jiyan Azadi".

PJAK CONGRESS

The PJAK (Kurdistan Free Life Party) Assembly announced that they held their seventh congress under war conditions in the free mountains of Kurdistan. It was reported that Emir Kerimi and Peyman Viyan were elected as the new co-chairs in the voting held at the congress. The congress also expressed the will to "expand cooperation with all the libertarian forces of the Iranian people, especially women and youth."

PAJK Assembly said in a statement: "Four years after the sixth congress of the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), the seventh congress of our party was held in the free mountains. In its seventh congress, PJAK put forward its struggle process with the slogan Let's liberate Kurdistan and build a democratic nation with the philosophy of Jin Jiyan Azadi. Our party held its congress at a time when the region was going through a deep crisis, in order to formalize both its existential and cultural-political identity and the identity of our country."

The statement added: "Our congress was held under difficult security conditions, under such harsh and hostile attacks that we could not expect normal work under these conditions. Four years have passed since the sixth congress, and in these last four years we have gone through a period of struggle in which we had to re-evaluate and review our past strategies. We had to criticize our past shortcomings and inadequacies and chart the path of the future of our struggles in the light of the results of constructive discussions. Among these reasons, there was a need to reorganize the management structure of our party.

At the congress, it was emphasized that our policy should be a third way and democratic solution, with detailed and accurate evaluations of the political situation of the world and the region. In addition, an evaluation was made on the necessity of protecting and defending the existence of the Kurdish people and their interests in every war and situation, at the top of our policies, insisting on a democratic solution, and the necessity of legitimate defense against threats to the existence of our people."

Leader Öcalan's resistance was a source of inspiration

The statement continued: "Leader Öcalan's situation in Imrali Prison, his position against the denialist forces, his historical resistance and the basis for the resistance of the people of the region, and his efforts to reach an independent will and self-governance for the people were discussed.

The necessity of the struggle for Leader Öcalan's physical freedom and its connection with the situation of the Kurdish people were explained and evaluated with strong arguments. While Leader Öcalan's severe isolation in Imrali prison and torture center was described, the torture and attacks against him were evaluated as the current political system's approach to the Kurdish issue. The pressures applied to our leadership are an indicator and example of the multifaceted pressures on our people in every part of Kurdistan. While his 26-year resistance was the resistance against fascism and totalitarianism, Kurdistan is the main source of inspiration for the struggle of our people and the people of the world. On this basis, the Congress approved the strong will participation in the "Freedom for Leader Öcalan and a political solution to the Kurdish question" initiative as the basic work plan."

Decisions

The congress took the following decisions:

"-At the seventh congress of PJAK, a detailed evaluation and discussion was made about the crisis situation in Eastern Kurdistan and Iran and the bad policies of the regime in this region, and it was determined that these policies pose a serious threat to the existence of all peoples in Iran.

-The Congress stated that comprehensive cooperation with all ecological movements and environmental activists is needed for the ecological struggle against the anti-environmental policies of the Iranian regime, and the need to encourage the development of ecological culture and individual and collective life in harmony with the environment. The general opinion was that we should not wait for other dimensions of the struggle on this issue, and that our party and its members should be at the front of the life and struggle programs and plans.

-The working report of the party co-presidency at the congress was also discussed and criticized and was approved with the notes made by the representatives within the framework of the congress documents. In our congress, various suggestions and decisions were presented within the framework of suggestions from different fields of work before and during the congress, in order to advance the struggle, taking into account the discussions and the results of the reports. These became the congress decisions and the work program of the coming period.

New co-chairs

Due to the end of the mandate of the co-chairs of our party, the representatives present at the congress elected Emir Kerimi and Peyman Viyan as the new co-chairs by a direct and transparent vote, and thanked the former co-chairs for their work and struggle.

In a separate vote, the party council was elected and the substitute members of the council were determined. The congress took place in an atmosphere worthy of devotion to the line of martyrs and the Jin Jiyan Azadi revolution and ended successfully.

More detailed information about our congress and its content will be announced to our people and the public in the near future."
