“Urgent expropriation” order for 7 more Kurdish towns

The Turkish cabinet has issued a decree of “urgent expropriation” for some areas in Şırnak's Cizre and İdil districts, Mardin's Kızıltepe district, Hakkari's Yüksekova and Çukurca districts, Amed's Kayapınar and Bağlar districts.

The Turkish cabinet has issued a decree of “urgent expropriation” for some areas in Şırnak's Cizre and İdil districts, Mardin's Kızıltepe district, Hakkari's Yüksekova and Çukurca districts, Amed's Kayapınar and Bağlar districts.

A similar “expropriation” decree, which means the seizure of people’s homes in effect, was issued for Amed’s Sur and Şırnak’s Silopi districts on March 25, in the wake of which total destruction began in the mentioned Kurdish towns ruined by state forces during months long curfews.

According to a related official statement, some areas are to be included in “urgent expropriation” in the following territories;

İstasyon and Kaynartepe neighborhoods in Diyarbakır's Bağlar district,

Kayapınar neighborhood in Kayapınar district,

Emir Şaban neighborhood in Hakkari's Çukurca district,

Eskikışla neighborhood in Yüksekova district,

Sandıklı and Koçhisar neighborhoods in Mardin's Kızıltepe district,

Yafes, Nur and Cudi neighborhoods in Şırnak's Cizre district,

Atakent neighborhood in Şırnak's İdil district.
