French communists issue call to “Stop Erdoğan”

France’s National Alliance of Elected Communists and Republicans Association (ANECR) reacted strongly against the arrests of Amed Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayors Gültan Kışanak and Fırat Anlı and supported the calls to “Stop Erdoğan”.

France’s National Alliance of Elected Communists and Republicans Association (ANECR) Chairperson and Champigny-sur-Marne Metropolitan Mayor Dominique Adenot strongly condemned the arrests of Amed Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayors Gültan Kışanak and Fırat Anlı.

Dominique Adenot said the Turkish dictator Tayyip Erdoğan launched an all-out war against democrats and Kurds in Turkey and pointed out that Erdoğan wanted there to be nobody left to oppose the crimes he commits. Adenot mentioned that Erdoğan had disregarded election results to this end and extinguished freedoms, and condemned elected officials being removed from duty following the lifting of the parliamentary immunities.

ANECR Chairperson Dominique Adenot stated that mayors were removed from office and trustees were appointed in their stead and said: “ANECR calls for a strict ‘No’ to the dictatorial actions of this regime that claims to be our ally.”

Adenot called on the French President François Hollande and the European Union and underlined that the silence meant compliance and it needed to be broken. Adenot concluded his word by: “All together, we all say, Stop Erdoğan.”
