Turkish state forces took into custody People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Diyadin (Giyadîn) district co-chair Ahmet Karatay during a raid on his house in the morning and took him to the provincial police headquarters. The reason for the detention was not disclosed.

The house raid took place within the scope of an investigation initiated by the Ağrı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
