Attacks target police and military units in four cities

Attacks took place against police and military units in Silvan district of Amed, Tatvan district of Bitlis, Erciş district of Van and in İzmir.

Attacks took place against police headquarters and regimental command in Silvan, military barracks, police headquarters and district governorship building in Tatvan, 108th Artillery Regimental Command in Erciş, and the Aegean Army Command Narlıdere Barracks in İzmir last night.

AMED

Attacks with rifles and rocket propellers targeting the District Police Headquarters and the Gendarme Tactical Regimental Command took place yesterday evening in the Yüksek neighborhood of Amed’s Silvan district. The number of casualties has not yet been identified and many ambulances arrived at the attack site after the attack. Akrep and Kobra armored vehicles patrolled the district entire night, and the license plates of many of these vehicles were 46, 49 and 24, which belong to cities other than Amed.

İZMİR

Unidentified people attacked the Aegean Army Command Narlıdere Barracks in İzmir with rifles, and nobody got hurt during the attack under police investigation.

BİTLİS

The military barracks, police headquarters and district governorship building located in the Cumhuriyet Street of Bitlis’ Tatvan district. The number of casualties during the nightlong clashes has not yet been identified.

VAN

The 108th Artillery Regimental Command in Van’s Erciş district was attacked with assault rifles and the number of casualties has not yet been identified.

MARDİN

Unidentified people attacked the district governor’s house in the Bahçebaşı neighborhood of Mardin’s Dargeçit (Kerboran) district with rocket propellers and stun grenades. Nobody got hurt during the attack and special operations forces and police officers launched an operation in the region in response to the attack.

ŞIRNAK

Young protestors prevented the police accompanied by armored vehicles from entering Nur Neighborhood with fireworks and molotovs, and police used tear gas intensively during the operation. Police forces soon left the neighborhood and stationed in Nusaybin Street and the nearby junction.

Rocket attacks on 2 police cars

During the intense clashes in the district, 2 Akrep armored vehicles were attacked with rocket propellers near Asri Cemetary on Nusaybin Street. There were no casualties during the attack.

Young people clashed with the police in İdil district

Young people protested political genocide operations in the Adile Naşit Street of Turgut Özal neighborhood in the İdil (Hezex) district of Şırnak. Police attacked young protestors, who had dug trenches, with tear gas canisters and young people responded with stun grenades and fireworks. Police also used real guns and bullets, but had to withdraw from the neighborhood eventually.
