At least 28 killed, 61 others wounded in Ankara blast

Yesterday's bomb attack in Turkish capital Ankara left 28 people dead and 61 others wounded.

Turkish capital city Ankara was shaken by a huge blast Wednesday evening.

The explosion took place in the area where the headquarters of Turkish General Staff, Air Forces Command and Land Forces Command are located. The blast reportedly occurred as buses carrying military personnel were heading near military buildings in central Ankara city.

Turkish officials reported at night that 28 people were killed and 61 others were wounded in the blast which reportedly resulted from a bomb-laden car that targeted the buses while standing at traffic lights in the center of the the Turkish capital, a few hundred meters away from the top military headquarters, parliament and prime minister’s office.

While there is no information available as to the perpetrator, Turkey has vowed to continue its struggle against all terror organizations.
