Victory celebration in Hesekê

YPG/YPJ forces liberated the neighbourhood of Ezîziyê and 2 villages in Hesekê.

YPG/YPJ forces liberated the neighbourhood of Ezîziyê and 2 villages in Hasekê. Asayish, Sutoro and self-defence forces (HPC) have shared the achievement with public by patrolling in the city with a convoy of dozens of vehicles, which took departure from the Mişêfreê neighbourhood and visited the liberated neighbourhoods of Xeşman, Telayi, Salihiyê, Ezîziyê and Xezil. The people took to the streets and joined the celebrations saluting the convoy in a cheerful manner. The convoy then took a tour over Kaziya Merşo region to Til Hecer, Narsra, Kelasê and Bûmiêşiyê neighbourhoods, where it was welcomed with enthusiasm and slogans by the people.

Clashes broke out on 24 June between the ISIS gangs and Syrian regime forces in Hesekê. Having inflicted heavy blows on regime forces, the ISIS gang groups took control of some parts of Neşwa and Xwrêran neighbourhoods. The gang groups flowingly targeted the neighbourhoods where mostly Kurdish people live and launched an attack on Ezîziyê neighbourhood with an aim to occupy it.

YPG/YPJ forces responded strongly to the attacks in the neighbourhood, which was left to the gangs by the regime forces without waging any fight. The neighbourhood was cleansed of the gangs by the YPG/YPJ forces following fierce clashes in which ISIS gangs suffered a heavy defeat.
