Turkish police kill another youth in Cizre

Turkish policemen in an armored vehicle intercepted a civilian car and forced those inside to get off, on whom they later rained bullets and killed a youth.

Turkish policemen in an armored vehicle intercepted a civilian car on Kobanê Avenue in Cizre district of Şırnak last night. The four people in the stopped civilian car got off and started running towards the Cudi neighborhood, upon which they were targeted by the bullets rained on them by the policemen in the armored car.

Two among them were wounded, while the other two managed to flee the scene.

According to eye witnesses, one of those wounded remained lying on the ground after suffering a severe injury in the attack. Policemen went near him and tied his hands and feet backwards, while they themselves also waited near the wounded youth for half an hour.

A quarrel broke out later between the policemen and local people who reacted to the denial of an ambulance to the scene. The policemen thereafter aimed their guns at the crowd and forced them to leave the area.

17-year-old youth by the name of Hasan Nere who was taken to a hospital half an hour later, lost his life there.

Nere's body has been sent to Diyarbakır Forensic Medicine Institution eaarly Thursday morning. Following an autopsy here, the youth will be taken back to Cizre where he will be laid to rest.
