"PKK member" killed by police in Şırnak turns out to be municipal worker

Şehmus Uğur who was executed by police in Şırnak as a PKK member the day before turned out to be a municipal worker.

Policemen stopped Şehmus Uğur with armored vehicles as he was on his way home in Aydınlıkevler neighborhood in Şırnak province at around 18:30 Saturday evening.

Police later executed Uğur by opening fire on him with long barreled guns.

Şırnak Governor said in a statement about the incident that Uğur was a member of the organisation (PKK) and was killed in a clash. The same statement claimed that the operation continued for the capture of another organisation member that fled.

The man killed in the city center turned out to be Şırnak Municipality employee Şehmus Uğur.

Uğur was laid to rest in the cemetery in Dicle neighborhood yesterday.
