Masses have walked to Cudi neighborhood earlier today to retrieve the civilian casualties from the scenes after the death of Serhat Altun this morning.
People managed to get the bodies of slain civilians Serhat Altun, Ahmet Tunç and Mehmet Kaplan, and 4 others with wounds from the neighborhood, and carried them up to Nusaybin Street when police started to fire on them from armored vehicles. At least 10 of those wounded have been taken to hospital, while ambulances are being awaited for the retrieval of others.
People have in the meantime taken shelter in the houses nearby. Dozens including HDP MP Faysal Sarıyıldız are now trapped in houses which remain under fire. IMC TV cameraman Refik Tekin is among those shot by state forces.
