An explosion took place in the garden of Amara Cultural Center located in Urfa’s Suruç district, where 300 Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) members from İstanbul met before going to Kobanê to join reconstruction efforts.
An explosion took place in the garden of Amara Cultural Center located in Urfa’s Suruç district, where 300 Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) members from İstanbul met before going to Kobanê in order to join reconstruction efforts. The explosion happened right before the press statement of the socialist youths who were going to start working in Kobanê today. The garden of Amara Cultural Center turned into a bloodbath after the explosion.
Despite the threat of a second attack, survivors of the bombing intervened in the chaotic situation and tried to help wounded people. Ambulances began to carry injured people to hospitals and the bodies of the deceased youth are being kept at the scene of the event.
ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR BLOOD DONATIONS
As the injured survivors of the attack are taken to Suruç State Hospital and other hospitals in Urfa city center, announcements for blood donations are being made. Due to the technical difficulties in Suruç State Hospital’s blood donation unit, volunteers are being directed to Urfa in order to donate blood. There is no confirmed information on the number and identities of the people who died during the explosion.
