Germany-wide demonstrations against Turkey

There have been protests against the Turkish invasion of Northern Syria across Germany. The protests emphasized the importance of Kurdish unity to counter Turkish genocidal attacks.

At the end of November, Cemil Bayik, Co-Chairman of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK), said: "If the Kurds want to achieve results, they must achieve national unity. There are good prerequisites for this. The people in all four parts of Kurdistan and the Kurdish people living abroad want a Kurdish unity".

For the 7th of December the Germany-wide active Kurdish umbrella organisation KON-MED has called on people to take to the streets in Germany for the unity of Kurdistan.

NUREMBERG

In Nuremberg the local Kurdish associations promoted a joint demonstration for the unity of Kurdistan: the Democratic Kurdish Community Centre (Medya Volkshaus), Democratic Union Party (Partiya Yekîtiya Demokrat, PYD) and Kurdish Cultural Centre Nuremberg (Nawend).

Speakers pointed out that: "The people in all four parts of Kurdistan and the Kurds living abroad want a Kurdish unity and they have learned that democratization of the Middle East can be achieved only through a joint organization. The offensive of the Turkish state and its jihadist mercenaries that was launched on 9 October in Northern Syria is not only directed against Rojava, but against the whole of Kurdistan. It is the continuation of the policy of extermination against Kurds, no matter in which part of Kurdistan they live.”

The ongoing war crimes in Rojava and the Tal Rifat massacre, in which eight children were killed by a Turkish shelling on December 2, were also addressed in speeches in Kurdish and German.

MUNICH

During an action in the Schützenstraße in Munich the invasion and war crimes of Turkey in Northern Syria were protested. In speeches, international institutions were called upon to act against the murderous actions of the Turkish state.

During a protest action in Kiel, the Federal Government was called upon to stop arms exports to Turkey and to issue effective sanctions.

FREIBURG

Turkish massacre of 10 civilians, including 8 children, in Tal Rifat town of Shehba was protested in the German city of Freiburg. During the protest at the Alte Synagoge Square, demonstrators also called for the establishment of national unity.

STUTTGART
