Police are attacking people pouring onto the streets to celebrate Newroz in Silopi, Idil (Þýrnak) and Mersin. Tear gas are thrown at the crowds peacefully gathering to celebrate the Kurdish New Year.

Many people are reported wounded including many children.

People in different neighbourhoods are meeting with flags and banners and chanting slogan. Police were waiting for the crowd to gather and attacked the people without any warning.

BDP Diyarbakýr deputy Emine Ayna has been giving a speech but police has attacked the crowd. Groups of people are resisting police's attacks by throwing stones and improvised molotof cocktails.
