YPG/YPJ fighters: We won’t allow anyone to invade our lands

As the Turkish army and affiliated gangs continue with their attacks on the countryside of Efrîn’s Shera district, YPG/YPJ fighters are mounting great resistance and inflicting heavy blows to gangs, saying that they won't allow an invasion of their lands.

During the past two days, the invading Turkish army and affiliated gangs are conducting artillery attacks on Merenaz, Malikiyê and Şewarxa villages in Efrîn’s Shera district. Unmanned aerial vehicles of the Turkish army are flying over Efrîn and Shehba.

As attacks and clashes continue in the region, fighters from the YPG/YPJ (People’s/Women’s Defense Units) who are mounting great resistance and inflicting heavy blows to the gangs, spoke to Hawar News Agency (ANHA).

YPG fighter Emîn Mustefa Teltelo stated that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan seeks to invade the region and revive an Ottoman era with these attacks. He stressed that they will defend the region and will not allow anyone to invade their land.

“THEY WANT TO BREAK THE LINE OF DEFENSE”

YPG fighter Mezlûm Cûdî remarked that Turkish-backed gangs are targeting their positions in an effort to break their line of defense, while YPG/YPJ resist the attacks and deliver heavy blows to the gangs.

Another YPG member, Ridwan Hisên underlined that YPG/YPJ fighters are mounting great resistance against the attacks with heavy weaponry, which –he said- does not allow the Turkish state’s goal to expand in and invade the region to succeed.

“WE WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO INVADE OUR LANDS”

YPJ fighter Berçem Şiyar stated that Turkish gangs are attacking their positions from several directions and said; “With these attacks, they seek to invade the villages and make the people leave their lands. We are marching on the path of our martyrs and responding to the attacks. We give a promise; we will not allow an invasion against our lands.”

Another YPJ fighter Silava Berbilind pointed out that YPJ fighters are making themselves a shield on the frontlines against the Turkish gangs, adding that they take strength from the people.
